Ingredients

Directions

Step 1
Measure the coconut oil and drop into a small heat-safe glass bowl. Set it inside a small saucepan
Step 2
Pour 2 inches (5cm) of water into the saucepan and heat it on low.
Step 3
Once the coconut oil has melted, measure and add the cranberry and beetroot powders. Let the mixture stand for 1 hour to infuse the oil, monitoring the saucepan and adding more water if needed.Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
Step 4
Strain the warm oil through the cheesecloth into a small bowl. Press gently on the solids to extract as much of the oil as possible, then discard the leftover liquid.
Step 5
Stir in the shea butter. It should melt easily if the oil is still warm. (if not gently warm the oils over low heat until melted, then remove the oil-butter mixture from heat.)
Step 6
Let the mixture cool, stirring to keep the color particles suspended
Step 7
When it's solidified, gently beat it with a spoon until light and creamy
Step 8
Transfer to a small jar with a tight fitting lid and use whenever you could stand a touch of color

Usage

Tips: This gloss melts easily, so don't keep it in your pocket. If you live in a warm climate, you can add a small amount of beeswax to firm up your gloss and add more texture. Melt 1/2 teaspoon beeswax pellets into the coconut oil after straining to give it a more balm-like consistency, then finish cooling and beating the cream. Frequency: As needed Recommended for; All skin types Storage: Store in a lidded container and use within 6 months
