Ingredients

Directions

Step 1
Grate the ginger root so you have 1/2 teaspoon, then combine with olive oil in a heat-safe glass bowl. (You can substitute the freshly grated ginger with 1 to 2 drops ginger essential oil to simplify the process)
Step 2
Bring 2 inches (5cm) of water to a boil in a small saucepan and reduce the heat to low. Place the glass bowl inside the saucepan, simmer to 30 minutes, and remove the bowl from heat.
Step 3
Strain out the ginger with cheesecloth. (In a pinch, a tea strainer also works) Let cool until it's lukewarm.
Step 4
To apply, work the oil into your scalp and then down to the ends of your hair . Comb through to saturate the strands. The longer you hair, the more oil you'll need.
Step 5
Wrap your hair with warm, wet towel and sit for 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse and shampoo.
