Step 1

Measure and combine the witch hazel , distilled water, and vodka in a large measuring cup. Use a pipette to drizzle in the essential oil of your choosing.

Step 2

Add the cornstarch (with the cocoa powder, if you have dark hair) Stir with spoon.

Step 3

Using a funnel, pour the liquid into a spray bottle. Just don't use a fine mist spray bottle - it will clog easily.

Step 4

To use, shake and hold the bottle 2 inches from your roots, then spritz. Style with a hairdryer.

Step 5

Tip// Cornstarch and vodka can dry out the scalp, but luckily the witch hazel in this recipe counteracts them. Look for a witch hazel that doesn't contain alcohol.
